This webinar focuses on the non-traditional or “contingent” employment experiences of people with physical disabilities. “Contingent” employment (for example, freelance or gig workers) reflects the tradeoffs between the benefits and security of a traditional 9-5 job and the opportunities that may allow a person with a disability to better direct and manage their career exploration and development. This webinar discusses the importance of self-advocacy, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), assistive technology use, and workplace accommodations in contingent employees’ experiences.
